FULFORD Tennis Club duo Sean Evans and Emily Garland retained their Under-16s Peter Terry Trophy at Rowntree Park.
The final of the IT Sports York and District Mixed Doubles Tennis League tournament was a hard-fought contest, with Evans and Garland beating Poppleton duo Michael Evans and Hannah Chambers 5-2.
The Garland family have had their name on the trophy for four successive years after Emily's sister, Faye, won in 2005 and 2006.
The tournament featured ten pairs playing in two groups, with the runners-up in each group beating the group winners in the semi-finals.
League president Malcolm Huntington presented the trophy and praised the "particularly high standard of tennis".
The other pairs taking part were Angus and Eleanor Bradshaw, of Fulford, St Peter's School's Dominic Shread and Victoria Herrenschmitt, Xavier and Sophie Edmonds-Alley, of Heworth, Poppleton's Matt Donohue and Lauren Caley, Ben Foster and Anna Bradshaw, of Fulford, and Poppleton pair George Chambers and Charlotte Worsman.
